Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of FinanceLab (the "Service"), operated by the sole trader trading as FinanceLab ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use the Service.

2. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
• You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
• You may not share your account or let others use it.
• Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

3. Subscriptions, trials & billing

• The Service offers a Free tier and paid tiers: Gold (£3.99/month) and Platinum (£14.99/month). Prices are in GBP and include any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
• New accounts may receive a 7-day free Platinum trial. Unless you subscribe to a paid plan, your access reverts to the Free tier when the trial ends. The trial is limited to one per person.
• Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
• You can cancel anytime from your account; access continues until the end of the current billing period, after which you are not charged again.
• Except where required by law (including your statutory rights under UK consumer legislation), payments are non-refundable for partial billing periods.
• We may change prices with reasonable prior notice; changes apply from your next billing cycle.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• scrape, crawl, resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service's data or output;
• attempt to bypass paywalls, tiers, rate limits, or security measures;
• reverse engineer, disrupt, or overload the Service or its infrastructure;
• use the Service unlawfully or to infringe others' rights.

5. Data & third-party sources

Market data, financials, news, and filings are provided by third parties including Financial Modeling Prep, SEC EDGAR, and TradingView, and AI narratives are generated using third-party models. This information may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate and is provided "as is" without warranty. We are not responsible for third-party data errors or availability.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, its design, and its original content are owned by us and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own research. You may not copy or redistribute it.

7. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any investment losses, trading decisions, or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud).

8. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or use the Service in a way that harms us or other users. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
